Al-Sharhan Exchange (a solidarity company - Saudi - subject to the control and supervision of the Saudi Central Bank) specialised in buying and selling foreign currencies and trading them within the Kingdom and importing and exporting currencies, was established in 2014 with a capital of two million Saudi riyals in the city of Dammam and its capital reached seven million Saudi riyals in line with its growth and spread - Where it started its activity from its main centre in Dammam city in the international departure hall at King Fahd International Airport in January 2015 to serve travellers, and followed a clear strategy of expansion, growth and opening branches where the first branch was opened in July 2015 in the international arrival hall at King Fahd International Airport to serve all customers. In April 2022 and September 2023, the second and third branches were opened in the international arrival and departure lounges at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and in 2025, the company was able to open two more branches in both the passport lounge at King Fahd International Airport and the Hajj and Umrah lounge complex at King Abdulaziz International Airport. The company intends to open two branches at the Haramain Express train station (Makkah and Jeddah) after taking the approval of the Saudi Central Bank, thus achieving the operation of 8 headquarters in eleven years, and the company is constantly keen to increase its branches in the regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, targeting Neom Bay Airport, King Khalid International Airport and the governorates of Jubail and Al-Ahsa.

The company has developed a plan to localise all jobs starting from 2019 and has achieved a Saudisation rate of Platinum Band, the highest band of the Ministry of Labour's classification for all jobs in the activity.
